Travelling

Today was my first workout in the Persian Gulf in almost 2 months. We did 2.5 miles in the ocean and I followed up with a one loop jog. I'm back in Abu Dhabi for a week on business. I got to see my wonderful Abu Dhabi Tri Club mates and experience what it feels like to swim in 90 degree water and run in 107 degree weather again.

After leaving Abu Dhabi at the beginning of May, I returned to Orange County. While I was "home", I did a final workout with Novaquatics at the Soka, a couple of open water swims in Laguna Beach.

Much of my time in recent weeks has been spent doing business development work, volunteering, and spending time with family. The company that I was working for in the UAE closed its doors so we are officially in transition. Luckily I've had a number of leads in both the US and UAE and I'm happy to spent some extra time with the family after a couple of years of extensive travelling. So what did we do as a family? We packed the house, and travelled to Sedona, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, Flagstaff, AZ, The Grand Canyon, and St. George, Utah.
If all goes well, I'll have a new project in Abu Dhabi and we'll get the whole family over here soon so we can make an impact on both the business world and continue training for a 2010 Ironman and Gates of Tears swim.
